Surround Fader (also called SurFader) provides the possibility to achieve the spatial impression that users prefer. This block localizes the sound in the vehicle cabin in the front, rear, left, and right. This block is typically used as a fader into the main audio path and is intended to be placed after the surround algorithm block.
The number of channels of the SurFader is not configurable in the SFD. It has a fixed number of 13 input channels and 13 output channels.
Tuning through the GTT has the following parameters:
- Control Parameters – Fade and Balance
- Tuning parameters – Gains for each group of channels
A fully configurable variant of this functionality is available as Fader Balance Audio Object
