There are two options to do this:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"alternative\">\n<li>Go to the Devices tab and click the \u201c<span class=\"emph\">+<\/span>\u201d button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1831\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1831\" style=\"width: 299px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1831 image\" src=\"https:\/\/audioworx.transfunnel.co\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Create-a-Device-A.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"239\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1831\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Create a Device (A)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ol class=\"alternative\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Click the <span class=\"emph\">Create Device<\/span> button in the GTT ribbon.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1832\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1832\" style=\"width: 393px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1832 image\" src=\"https:\/\/audioworx.transfunnel.co\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Create-a-Device-B.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"393\" height=\"83\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1832\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Create a Device (B)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"text\">In the window that shows up, a user needs to fill in the following fields:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-points\">\n<li>Reference ID of the device template<\/li>\n<li>Device ID \u2013 initial value of the Device ID field for the first device instance created out of that template<\/li>\n<li>Device template name<\/li>\n<li>Brand \u2013 required for legacy AA infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Family &#8211; required for legacy AA infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Number of Channels \u2013 number of channels supported by the device<\/li>\n<li>Max Tuning Data Size &#8211; Maximum count of bytes included in a single tuning data message<\/li>\n<li>Communication Type &#8211; could be ID based tuning or address based tuning<\/li>\n<li>Core(s) \u2013 each device template exposes one or more physical cores to choose from. Two modes of core selections is available , based on default xAF library selected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><strong>For xAF library before O release<\/strong>\u00a0 : multiple cores from given list can be selected<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10899\" src=\"https:\/\/audioworx.transfunnel.co\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/created_Device_Old.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"812\" height=\"457\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><strong>For xAF library from O release<\/strong>\u00a0 : Cores can be added\/removed. Core-types and Data-formats supported by xAF will be listed for configuring core.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10900\" src=\"https:\/\/audioworx.transfunnel.co\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/create_device.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"803\" height=\"471\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"result\">A new device template gets created once a user has filled in all the fields and clicked the <span class=\"emph\">OK<\/span> button.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">Properties of an existing device template can be modified in the device template properties grid at the bottom of the window.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1835\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1835\" style=\"width: 585px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1835\" src=\"https:\/\/audioworx.transfunnel.co\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Device-Template-Properties.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"585\" height=\"137\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1835\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Device Template Properties<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"note\">If you want to get rid of a device template, you need to press the \u201c<span class=\"emph\">x<\/span>\u201d key next to the device template\u2019s name in the templates list. This will remove the device template. It is not possible to remove a template which is used by any device instance in any of the projects.
