Overview<\/span><\/p>\n

Compound audio objects are created by extracting few audio objects in the signal flow.\u00a0 There is an option to ship a tuning panel with the CAO, so when exported, both compound audio object and the panel associated with this can be shared with others, and it is easy to tune when the CAO is imported.\u00a0 This section describes the steps to associate custom panel to CAO.<\/p>\n

Create CAO<\/span><\/p>\n

Refer to section “Create a Compound Audio Object” <\/span>to learn how to extract CAO from audio objects in a signal flow. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Create custom panel<\/span><\/p>\n

Create custom panel for the compound audio object.\u00a0 Please refer to section “custom control panel – create new panel” for this.<\/p>\n

Launch Custom panel for CAO<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the custom panel is created,\u00a0 the panel has to be launched to ensure that it is working, and tuning is possible.\u00a0 Refer to the below image.\u00a0 This is normal associating a panel to any audio object.\u00a0 User has to check the box “is custom panel” and select the appropriate custom panel from the list box. On double clicking the CAO, the panel will launch.<\/p>\n

Below is one example custom panel created for the CAO and the tuning is possible.<\/p>\n

Note: There will be exclamation marks on the control if state variables are not associated with the control.\u00a0 All exclamation marks should be fixed before proceeding further.\u00a0 Please refer to “Custom Control Panels – Add StateVariables to the Panel” to<\/span>\u00a0link statevariables to controls.<\/p>\n

Link panel to CAO<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the panel is verified to be launching properly for the CAO with a double click,\u00a0 it has to be associated to the CAO type.\u00a0 On the property page,\u00a0 there is a new button with the name “Apply custom panel to toolbox type”.\u00a0 Press that button and accept the confirmation message.\u00a0 Now the custom panel is associated with the type in the toolbox.\u00a0 Below image shows the button to be pressed to link the custom panel to CAO.<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0 This option will be available only if the audio object selected is a CAO type.<\/p>\n

Share CAO along with custom panel<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the custom panel is associated with the CAO,\u00a0 check if this panel is associated by dragging the CAO into the signal flow and double clicking it.\u00a0 Panel should launch like any other audio object with default panels.\u00a0 Export the compound audio object to a .cao file in order to share it with others.\u00a0 Refer to “Import\/Export a Compound Audio Object (CAO)” se<\/span>ction to export CAO.<\/p>\n

If the .cao file has the custom panel,\u00a0 on importing the CAO, it comes associated with the panel. If CAO is dragged into the signal flow designer and double clicked,\u00a0 panel launches and tuning is possible.<\/p>\n

Edit custom panel for CAO<\/span><\/p>\n

User can also edit CAO that has come with exported file .cao . Press the button “Add instance custom panel to Gallery for Edit” in the property window, to add the custom panel to the custom panel gallery, and edit custom panel window will open for further edit.\u00a0 See picture below which shows the button to edit custom panel that came with CAO.<\/p>\n

Note: This button will be available only for CAO type.<\/p>\n
