The central element of the calibration menu is the list of microphones contained in the current microphone element. The list has the columns:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Microphone:<\/strong> The number of the microphone within the element.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Previous value:<\/strong> Offset measured during previous calibration, displayed as comparison.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Current value:<\/strong> The offset measured during this calibration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Compensation File:<\/strong> This is the File provided by mic manufacturer, which will be used for magnitude curve correction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29352 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/audioworx.transfunnel.co\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MM_CalibrationView-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1336\" height=\"562\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The type of the microphone element and the currently selected microphone within the element are indicated using an icon (green rectangle).<br \/>\nThe soundcard the selected microphone shall be connected to are displayed above the list (yellow rectangle).<br \/>\nThe reference sound pressure level of the calibrator can be selected in the upper right (red rectangle).<\/p>\n<p>To calibrate a microphone:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"3:1-3:70\">Choose the microphone you want to calibrate.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"4:1-4:41\">Attach the microphone to the designated channel on the calibration device. Connect the calibrator to the microphone itself.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:39\">\u00a0Select the appropriate reference sound pressure level (SPL) for your calibration.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"6:1-6:106\">Click the &#8220;Calibrate&#8221; button. The calibration process should take approximately 2 seconds.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:156\">While calibration is running, observe the level meter (indicated as a black rectangle) for activity on the chosen input channel.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"8:1-8:123\">The calibration will result in an offset value (displayed in red in the &#8220;current value&#8221; column).<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:176\">Choose to accept this value by clicking &#8220;Apply&#8221; (which will turn the value green) or repeat the calibration process if the value is not satisfactory.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"10:1-10:159\">Clicking &#8220;Apply&#8221; confirms the calibration value, turns it green, and automatically selects the next microphone that needs calibration (if applicable).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Repeat the procedure for all microphones in the array.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Import:<\/strong>\u00a0 an existing calibration and compensation file path can be imported using &#8220;Import&#8221; option. This sets the current value for all microphones to the stored offsets. The values must be applied.<\/p>\n<p>Individual microphones can be re-calibrated at any time. Once all calibration offsets are applied, the menu can be closed using &#8220;Ok&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Export:<\/strong> A full set of applied calibrations along with compensation file path can be exported to disk using &#8220;Export&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every microphone element (1 or 6 microphone array) must be calibrated separately.
